Building Permit Filing Instructions & Residential Zoning Fee Schedule
The
primary Zoning regulations (setbacks, size requirements, etc.) are available
on-line at www.tn.merrimac.wi.gov.
The
following items MUST be submitted with the application for a NEW
RESIDENCE:
- Copy
of Uniform Dwelling Code (UDC) Permit from the State of Wisconsin.
- General
Engineering, Co., at (608) 745-4070. The code is available online at
www.commerce.state.wi.us.
- Copy
of Sauk County Sanitary Permit.
- Sauk

- Copy
of Sauk County Land Use Permit (in the Sauk County. Lakeshore District).
- Sauk

- Sauk
Cty requires a Driveway permit, which can be obtained from Town of
Merrimac Supervisor Steve Peetz; (608) 493-2669.
- Building
Plans.
- Site
plans (showing all items as requested on the application).
- Check
for applicable fees.

ACCESSORY STRUCTURE, ADDITION OR REMODEL:
- Copy
of Sauk County Sanitary Permit. (when ADDING rooms).

ADDING rooms or exterior expansion).

On the internet, you can request an application at www.tn.merrimac.wi.gov.
The Administrator is in the Town Hall on most Mondays from 10am – 12pm,
a schedule is posted on the website and at the Town Hall (PERMITS ARE NOT ISSUED
ON THE SAME DAY). Mail the
complete application with all requested materials to: PO BOX 115, Merrimac, WI
53561. Return the entire
applications, copies will be returned with your approved permit and receipt of
payment.
Allow
at least 15 days for processing.
